Come Jan 1st next year, Penang will have to adhere the ruling of no plastic bag.
I for one is supporting the Penang government of this ruling.
Plastic bags are non-biodegradable. They clogged drains, water ways and spoil the environment. By banning the usage, it will help the earth to have a healthy environment and to eradicate global warming.
All hypermarkets, supermarkets, departmental stores, pharmacies, fast food restaurants, nasi kandar outlets and convenience stores have to adhere the ruling by Jan 1st.
It's going to be a inconvenient for me as I have to get an extra bag to store all my purchases, even food.
I asked the local eatery and the mini market at my area and they have not received any instructions from the government yet.
Not all plastic bags usage will be banned, only those which are hand carry as these respondents claimed.
But garbage bags are here to stay!
I hope that the Penang government will provide the local businesses paper bags for the consumers' convenience usages.
What about all plastic containers or articles? They are our daily usage. They are harzadours to the environment too.
Ps. Should the government ban all plastics articles?

I felt the earth move...
It was 6.20am this morning when I was looking at my clock, whether it was time for me to wake up. No, it's not the time yet and I dozed back to sleep.
Suddenly, I felt my bed shook a couple of times and instantly I knew it was an earthquake. I'm supposed to get up and run down to the ground floor apartment but I was too lazy. I stayed in bed all the time. Besides, much to my surprised there were no one running down.
This evening, when I saw the news, it was confirmed that the earthquake was from Acheh global time 5.15am, 7.7 Richter scale. It could easily triggered a tsunami.
Thank God, it didn't trigger a tsunami like the last huge one on Dec 26th, 2004 which leaves 52 death in Malaysia.
I've felt a few times of earthquake tremors and I kind of got use to it.
Recently, the world faces earthquakes resulting lost of lives and properties.
Ps. Has the earth moves it's axis or is it a direct warning from the Man above?

Rain, rain pls come again

As I looked out at the window this afternoon, it gave a gloomy look. Signalling it will rain. And suddenly, there were gushes of water flowing down from the sky. Came with wind that follow.
Yeap, it did rain, cooling down the earth after 2 months of dry spell. After months of water intolerance and heat wave, the rain did a good job, even though it lasted only 15 minutes.
The air was cooler and as I'm posting my entry now, I can feel the breeze accompany with the fan looking down below my head.
Ps. I can sleep without sweating now. Rain, rain pls come again....

In The Heat Of The Nite
Yestarday night, I was tossing and turning around, maybe it's because I miss my boyfriend and I was hoping he was by my side, lol. I kept looking at the clock, it's 1am and another hour pass by, it's 2am! And I'm still wide awake.
Suddenly, the fan stopped and oh no!, the power in my apartment was out. I looked out and saw my whole area was black out. How long the power is going to be out, I wonder? After the few minutes, I really felt the heat, despite in the wee hours in the morning.
Decided that I couldn't sleep in my bed, I opened up the balcony sliding door and slept on the couch. There was some slight breeze blowing, thank Gpd! I thought that I could sleep on the couch until the morning, but the heat overtaken the breeze.
After laying for half an hour, the power came back, hurray! I went back to sleep in my bedroom with the full blast of the fan accompany me until the morning.
Nowadays, the heat is so unberable, even just sitting down in my apartment in the afternoon I will eventually end up with my whole body drenched with sweat!
Faced it, now in Malaysia, we are experiencing El Nino from now till Sept.
Ps. Rain, rain, pls come quickly. It's like a dessert out here!

Earth Day 2009 Aftermath

Did all of you participate the Earth Hour on last Saturday for an hour? I did participate but I admitted that I cheated a bit. Well, I did switch off all my lights but I did not when I went to toilet and take a bath. Hey, I couldn't wait for one hour to shower.
I've felt glad that I did participate and it's not this time we need to participate this event. Let us do a little bit and be sensitive of our surrounding. Maybe there are a few steps that we need to be adhered to:-
a) Try not to receive plastic bags when each time we buy things. If possible, do carry your own bag.
b) Do encourage to take tiffin carrier to store food. This is to discourage of using plastic bags and Styrofoams which can be a danger to our health and the environment.
c) Do car pool, if possible, take public transport.
d) Be sure to switch off the lights when not in use.
e) Do avoid unnecessary opening of the fridge.
f) Recycle!

Earth Day 2009

Come this Saturday, 28 March, this is the day when the world is called to switch off their lights and electricity appliances for an hour. In Malaysia, we are told to this from 8.30-9.30pm. This is to commemorate the Earth resting day for an hour.
The Earth had been suffering from all the damages we human being have cordoned. She has two large holes in the ozone, coughing up smoke emissions, her temperatures went crazy, kept non-biodegradable items like plastics, cloths and styrofoams.
The weather of today was not the same as years ago. It has been reported that hot temperatures worldwide sored as high as 3 degrees Celsius and cold temperature degrees rose likewise. The glaciers have been melting each day.
We, human being is to be blame. We contributed all these factors to spoilt the earth. She's sick today and if we do not continue to cure her, she will be so sick that in a few years to come, we will suffer because of her wrath.
Let's join hand together to switch off the lights for an hour this Sat and also cultivate a culture of recycling.
P/s, I seldom receive goods stored in plastic bags nowadays, unless if I have to only.
