So much joy I can't contain it...

It was the most relaxed and easiest interview I went to. Lasted only 20 minutes and the interview was so informal. Me and the interviewer chatted like old friends..

I was hired immediately! The pay package is 0.13% lower of my current pay now. It's much much better than the first hospital I went to interview for! I don't have to work on shifts and on Sunday, I would be able to go to church.

One of the benefits working in this hospital is I will get unlimited access of medical care and consultation. This means, I will have free medical consultation. Wow, this is great!

Praise the Lord! I would like to thank the Lord for opening this door and my dad for pulling some strings.

One more thing to add, I've got a request today that my ex-company wants to hire me back for the same post. I left one year ago and until today they can't find the right person.

And they want me back?! Well, they should appreciate me when I was around.

Ps. So much the joy I can't contain it... It's gonna be a great weekend for me. Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Things Are Coming...

After being laid off by my current company, I thought I was not favourable in the job market, which I think so I am. I sent 20 job applications job online so far.

But sad to say, only 0.02% employer so far called me for an interview. I'm glad that I'm somehow shortlisted but the problem is that I'm not the only one. So, the chances being employed on the spot is 1 out of 10!

It is much more easier to get that job if I'm being introduced. I thank the Lord that my dad knew some of his friends who are in the medical profession. If not, I would not be offered a job immediately. I'm still waiting and see on this offer; waiting for the offer letter. (Pls read my posting on "When opportunity comes knocking...")

I will be having another job interview this Thursday in another prestigious hospital which also arrange by my dad. If the offer is good and well snd I'm hired immediately, think that this job I will consider. So, wish me lots of good luck, ya!

Ps. I strongly believed that good things are coming my way.

Any good things come your way, lately?

When opportunity comes knocking...

When I told my dad that I was being lay off and asked him for his help, he responded by asking his friends on a job lookout for me. My dad is a medical profession.

Arrangement was made and I called up to arrange for an interview. The interview was held at a prestigious hospital in Penang.

I will be stationed to receive patients' admissions, cash payments and cheques. My job run on shifts and allowances will be given. Triple pay I will receive if my shift falls on a major public holiday.

And it's only 3 minutes drive from my apartment. I was offered the job verbally.

However, my basic salary they are offering will be 35% lower of what I'm getting now. The HR have not make final confirmation on the actual amount yet.

I'm also entitled to 2 pairs of uniforms and subsidised meal, which means I can saved a lot here.

What do you think,

1) Should I take up this job?

2) Or keep on waiting for another?

3) What happens if this will be the only opportunity I have?

Ps.I'm in my mid-30s now, the job market does not really welcome me anymore.

Reality Bites

Never knew that it will happen to me and it did. Today, I was being told by my manager to look for another job as my company been sold off.

They will be moving the accounts department to Ipoh and they are restructuring the company. I won't be needed anymore as part of my job have already taken by the purchasing department. I will not be confirmed as my probation period was extended till 22nd Feb 2010.

So, after Chinese New Year, I will be jobless. Last in, first out.

Ps. I can't go on anymore, I'm afraid and really worried of what's going to happen.

Your Sleeping Position

Whenever we sleep, our body tends to adjust itself to a comfortable position. And during our sleep, we tend to shift our self to different positions every few minutes.

Enjoy this read for your self-knowledge. :)

Professor Chris Idzikowski, director of the UK Sleep Assessment and Advisory Service analysed six common sleeping positions - and found that each is linked to a particular personality type.

What your sleeping position says about you ...

Foetus

Those who curl up in the foetus position are described as tough on the outside but sensitive at heart. They may be shy when they first meet somebody, but soon relax. This is the most common sleeping position, adopted by 41% of the 1,000 people who took part in the survey. More than twice as many women as men tend to adopt this position.

Log

Lying on your side with both arms down by your side. These sleepers are easy going, social people who like being part of the in-crowd, and who are trusting of strangers. However, they may be gullible.

Yearner

People who sleep on their side with both arms out in front are said to have an open nature, but can be suspicious, cynical. They are slow to make up their minds, but once they have taken a decision, they are unlikely ever to change it.

Soldier

Lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides. People who sleep in this position are generally quiet and reserved. They don't like a fuss, but set themselves and others high standards.

Freefall

Lying on your front with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side. Often gregarious and brash people, but can be nervy and thin-skinned underneath, and don't like criticism, or extreme situations.

Starfish

Lying on your back with both arms up around the pillow. These sleepers make good friends because they are always ready to listen to others, and offer help when needed. They generally don't like to be the centre of attention.

Professor Idzikowski also examined the effect of various sleeping positions on health. He concluded that the freefall position was good for digestion, while the starfish and soldier positions were more likely to lead to snoring and a bad night's sleep.

Professor Idzikowski said "Lying down flat means that stomach contents can more readily be worked back up into the mouth, while those who lie on their back may end up snoring and breathing less well during the night. "Both these postures may not necessarily awaken the sleeper but could cause a less refreshing night's sleep."

The research also found that most people are unlikely to change their sleeping position. Just 5% said they sleep in a different position every night.

Ps. My positions are the foetus and freefall, which the characteristic's for the foetus are true enough.

Excruciating Pain

As usual, it was a routine for me to let go my motion each morning. Thank God for a good gut, lol...

But yesterday, I had a little stomach upset. When I arrived at work, my stomach was giving me a little fight. Went to toilet and eased myself. I thought the pain will stop but it did not.

My stomach was churning and the pain was like having contractions. The pain consistently surfaced every 2 minutes and was excruciating. I don't think I'm in the condition even to drive to see a doctor.

Visit the toilet again but I can't let go. My colleague gave me a bottle of "Pil Chi Kit Teik Aun" for stomach upset. After taking, I just sat for half an hour seeping the pain in. The pain gradually left after that.

Blamed in on the fish stuffed with sambal, I took the day before. I did think the fish was not fresh...

Ps. Anyone had any experience of excruciating stomach upset as bad as mine? Or even worst?

All in the sake of THE name

Why oh why, must we fight among each other? For we are created from the same creator. But only our beliefs are different.

Of late, the Catholics in Malaysia tried very hard to publish the name, "Allah" on their monthly magazine mainly for their non-english reader, the Indonesian Christians, the Sabahan and Sarawakian who are Christians.

Their request are simple but it was so hard for the Malaysian government. Their application was rejected, appealed to the High Court and was approved. However, it was rejected again by the High Court as the situation turned chaotic.

Churches were burnt because of there was fear the Catholics will convert them. They felt that their right as Muslims had been tarnished.

Christians are living in fear and are on alert. Because, we know that this is one of the sign Christ is coming back again.

Luke 13:13 - All men will hate you because of me,

Likewise, we have to prayed for those who persecute us.

Matt 5:44 - I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

Ps. As a Christian, I just shared my views of what had happened. If this issue condone any sensitiviness to your beliefs, please forgive me.

I've Been Bombed!

Wow, what a year to begin with! It's only the 5th and today I heard of something which I would not like to hear. I'm bombed by very shocking news.

There was confirmation of my company selling its share to a new company and they will be axing half of its staff.

Uncertainties thoughts came:-

1) How true is this information? After all, they came from horses' mouths. If it's true, will I be affected?

2) Is my company deliberately extending my confirmation so that I'm volunteering myself to go? After all, they don't have to pay any compensation!

3) What am I to do if I lose my job? Other companies will not think of hiring me as I'm in my mid 30s.

4) How long can I survive financially without a job?

I'm really afraid after hearing this news, especially financially running low. I don't have any concrete plans at this moment.

I thought of giving English private home tuition if worst case scenario. It's gonna be hard as I don't have any experience but I need to start somewhere.

I'm depressed and frustrated. It's like you have a job security and now everything will be gone soon.

Ps. No one can change this situation around except God. I got to seek after Him and ask for solutions and guidance.

2010 Handbook

At the stroke of midnight, the world celebrates a new dawn of a new year, 2010. A beginning of a new chapter where we look forward and anticipate a whole new year.

Resolutions are made before the new year of which some will be fulfilled by
2010, some are being broken within the few days.

I gave up making resolutions which I will not fulfilled them, anyhow.

Here are some thoughts to ponder for 2010....

Health:

1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner
like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less
food that is manufactured in plants.
4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
5. Make time for prayer.
6. Play more games.
7. Read more books than you did in 2009
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9. Sleep for 7 hours.
10.Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:

11. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what
their journey is all about.
12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control.
Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake.
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with his/her
mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems
are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like
algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23. Smile and laugh more.
24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Society:

25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything.
28. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your
family and friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:

32. Do the right thing!
33. Always speak the truth even if it leads to your death.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come.
38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.

This year, I will
A)Make time for prayer;
B)Read more books;
C)Smile and laugh more;
D)Call my family often;
E)Give thanks.

Ps. What are your resolutions for 2010? Are you able to fulfill them?
